Pending Legislation
On Tuesday, September 14, 2021, three (3) new bills were introduced in the Michigan House regarding Medical Marihuana, and specifically regarding Registered Caregivers and the creation of a new license. HB 5301 contains the majority of the changes. Among other things, after March 21, 2022 — Registered Primary Caregivers would only assist one (1) Registered Qualifying Patient (a reduction from 5 to 1).
The bill also introduces a new Licensed Specialty Medical Grower, that grow for Registered Qualifying Patients and would be subject to the same requirements as other MRA regulated and licensed facilities regarding testing, labeling, and using a secure transporter.
